Shantaria, whose nickname is Shanti, would like families to know, “I have a unique personality, I’m very playful, happy, awesome, lovable and a good helper!” She is an outgoing and talkative girl. Shanti likes singing, dancing, putting together puzzles and coloring. She enjoys math because it can be difficult and challenging. Shanti’s favorite singers are Hannah Montana and Justin Bieber. If she had three wishes she notes, “I would like to be a singer, go to high school and college and start a program to help people without homes!” Shanti says, “I like to have my own style and dress colorfully to match my personality!” Shanti is learning how to develop and maintain peer relationships with others in school. She is working on improving her decision making and not letting others influence her choices. Additionally, Shanti is trying to develop a better rapport with authority figures in the home and at school. Shanti says, “I would like my forever family to be a mom and a dad and have younger children in the home!” She adds, “I would love to have a family that would have Family Nights with popcorn and have a family that keeps me out of danger, is dependable and comes to my school events!” Shanti is in need of an adoptive family that will provide her with a loving, supportive and safe home environment. She would do well with a single or two-parent with younger children in the home. The adoptive family must be willing to seek out any support services that would be beneficial for her emotional, developmental and cognitive needs. The family must provide Shanti with structure and consistency to help her reach her fullest potential.
