Joshua, who goes by Josh, is an outgoing and talkative young man. He states, “I enjoy playing any sports and I like to listen to all types of music!” Josh likes playing indoors and going running outdoors. He loves pets and likes to watch all types of movies, except for cartoons. Josh likes to help out around the house by doing chores like cleaning the sink, mopping and sweeping. He enjoys decorating his room with different pictures of animals. Josh has a slight hearing impairment. He can have difficulty expressing his thoughts accurately without adult assistance. Josh can have trouble staying on task causing him to become frustrated. Josh can be quite imaginative and has difficulty maintaining consistent peer relationships. Josh would do well as the only child in either a single or two-parent adoptive home. He would thrive in a family where he is able to receive plenty of one on one attention. The adoptive family should be active and very involved in Josh’s life. Josh would benefit from a family that is patient yet firm and able to teach him proper behaviors. The adoptive family should have experience parenting children who have had tumultuous pasts and need assistance in understanding others’ personal space. The family must assure Josh that he will be in a safe and loving environment. Josh is hesitant to trust others and needs a family that will make a firm commitment to him and make sure he knows how important he is.
