John is a sensitive teen with good insight. He is a very likeable boy, and all of the adults in his life describe him as dependable, a hard worker and a “neat kid”. John loves school although he can struggle with math and science, and with writing. Music is big with John; he plays the harmonica and looks forward to the day when he will be able to start playing the trombone. John also likes to work out (he uses the treadmill and swims), plays video and computer games, and assembles model cars. John’s goals include joining the ROTC, entering a military academy and/or becoming a scientist. It takes him time to organize his thoughts and get them out so patience is required and rewarded! John would benefit from a family who understands and supports his strong attachment to his three younger siblings who are placed with a relative. These connections are very important to John and it is important for his “new” family to honor some form of continued contact.
