Nooney, Jonathan & Christiane - NC

North Carolina

Jonathan (44) is a Mechanic, and Christiane (46) is a Medical Technologist. Jon and Chris were married in Oct 1996, and have been thinking about adopting since before their two boys were born. Chris grew up in a large family, the youngest of five girls and would like for her children to have the experience of a large family. Jon works full time outside the home in a major medical center. Jon is the youngest of three children. He has two older sisters (one sister is deceased). Jon is self-employed which gives them some flexibility with childcare and vacations. The boys are active in scouts and Jon has been a den leader for the last five years, and a Cub Master prior to that.  The boys played summer baseball in the past; Jon sponsored and helped coach the teams. They also enjoy camping and purchased a travel trailer in 2008. Jon is a hunter and takes pride in training his hunting dogs. He has placed in the top ten in several competition hunts. He enjoys spending time teaching the boys about hunting (certified instructor for the Hunter Safety Course) and training hunting dogs (he works with them on required care and needed training). Jon and Chris are active in Providence Presbyterian Church, the boys attend youth group and vacation bible school. The family has several dogs, three Miniature Schnauzers that are family pets (indoor/outdoor) and four Mountain Curs (outdoor only) that are hunting dogs. They both love being parents and would like to expand the family by becoming a “forever family” for a child or sibling group.

Jonathan and Christiane would like to adopt up to one, female child, or a sibling group up to four children as long as there are some males in the group, of Asian, Biracial, Caucasian, Hispanic and Native American descent, between the ages of 0 to 12.  They feel capable of accepting the following conditions: ADD, ADHD, adjustment disorder, asthma, developmental delays, diabetes, drug exposed, mild to moderate emotional, enuresis,  failure to thrive, heart murmur, hyperactivity, learning disability, legal risk,  mild mental retardation, missing limbs, physically abused, PTSD, reactive attachment disorder (RAD), sexually abused, and tourette syndrome.
