Eric is an energetic and curious boy who loves to explore his surroundings!  He loves to be involved in whatever you are doing and can be very helpful.  Playing in water is by far Eric’s favorite pastime!  He also enjoys watching cartoons and Disney movies.  He is a sweet young man who thrives on praise and positive attention.  Eric is able to recognize the important people in his life and is able to form attachments to new people fairly easily.

Eric is autistic and mostly non-verbal, though he has recently learned how to say “cookie” and “bye.”  Despite Eric’s inability to speak, he is able to let his caregivers know what he wants and needs simply by pointing or by leading them to specific locations in the house.  He understands what is said to him and is able to follow simple commands and complete simple tasks.  Eric can be easily distracted, but can be just as easily redirected to stay on task.

Eric requires a highly structured home environment and parents who can be strong advocates for his needs. His ideal forever family will be loving and energetic, and willing to make a life-long commitment to him.
