John has strawberry blonde hair and blue eyes. He is small for his age. He’s a little shy at first but he warms up quickly. He enjoys playing outside at the park, collecting toy cars, playing with “Tigger” and trains, watching movies, play on the computer and being read to. He loves hotdogs, spaghetti and chicken. He likes playing kick ball, soccer and catch. He is described as playful, sensitive, friendly, generous, quiet, serious and fearful. John likes to touch everything due to sensory issues. He covers his ears around loud noises. John struggles with changes and requires a structured routine. John is able to make friends and he loves animals. John likes school and he can write his name. He knows his letters and comprehends language when being spoken to. John communicates with one or two word sentences. He is very affectionate and easily redirected. John does not cognitively understand adoption and he will be slow to transition and bond. His family will need to be structured and consistent with expectations. John will need his family to care for him throughout his adulthood. They will need to have knowledge of parenting children with significant developmental and academic delays. They will also need a great deal of patience and energy.
