Easy-going and mild-mannered Matthew smiles and laughs often and is adored by everyone who knows him!  Matthew is diagnosed with autism and communicates mostly with gestures and some basic sign language. His inability to communicate with spoken words does not hinder Matthew – he is an active and happy participant in the world around him! Music delights Matthew and he loves to dance and imitate drum beats with his hands. He enjoys outings in the community (arcades and theme parks are two of his favorite destinations) and especially loves to be outdoors in the summer months. 

Memorial Day and Independence Day are fun holidays for Matthew as he loves to see fireworks! Matthew is a well-behaved young man and follows directions easily and without complaint. He can be slow to warm to new people, but once he does is affectionate and loving. Matthew is thriving in his foster home but is ready to find his forever family! Matthew’s ideal family would need to be willing to commit to caring for Matthew throughout his adulthood to ensure that he meets his full potential. He gets along well with other children and would be happy to have siblings in his forever home.
